Dear Parents,
In regards to the accident that
occurred Thursday afternoon, we would like you to know that our primary
concern is the health and well-being of one of our students and her family
and friends in this time of need. We have implemented our crisis plan and
have made available counselors to help our students through this difficult
time. As a caring school community, we will continue to support both family
and friends while respecting the privacy of the family.
Should you child need to speak with a
counselor about this incident please contact Raynham Middle School
(508-977-0504) and speak with Mrs. Traynor (ext. 156), Mr. Florence (ext.

Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,

Rumor Control
On Monday, April 23, 2007, a metal stop sign was found
lying on the ground near the wooded area of the Raynham Middle School. The
sign had apparently been on the ground for some period of time, as it had
signs of weathering (mud on it). The sign did have a number of different
caliber bullet holes in it. The area where the sign was located is in close
proximity to the Raynham Gun Club. Based on the location of the sign and
the weathering, police officials did not consider there to be any safety
concern to individuals.
Upon learning of the discovery of the sign School
Resource Officer, Louis Pacheco, promptly searched the area and notified
the Raynham Police Dept. and school officials. A thorough investigation was
conducted to determine the origin of the sign and how it came to the school
property. A full K-9 search confirmed that there was no evidence of weapons
or shells having been fired on the property. It was determined that the sign
had been shot at in another location and dropped on the school property.
To reiterate, at no time was there considered to be any
danger to individuals. The investigation was conducted by the Raynham
Police Department as a precautionary measure and to attempt to determine
the origin of the sign.

tucked into his waistband, at the Raynham Middle School. It was seen
and reported to the main office to School Resource Officer Lou Pacheco and
Vice Principal Rich Florence. The boy has been suspended from school
until further notice. The Raynham Police department has also issued a
complaint to seek criminal charges. Rumors of a real gun or any drug involvement
are not true. Contact

On October 10th at the Raynham Middle school a 13 year old was

BR Rumor Control – October 11, 2006
Yesterday at Bridgewater Raynham Regional High School,
we had a student let a friend who was not a BR student into the school to
visit. It created a situation that was quickly identified by students
and staff and this person was removed from the building. The police
were notified and this non-student was eventually arrested for trespassing.
Please make sure that anyone visiting the high school
only enters through the main entrance in the Raynham Lobby (by the gym).
Once the school day begins, that will be the only entrance that visitors
should enter through and only visitors who have checked in and put on a
visitors tag will be allowed throughout the building.
Thank for your attention to this matter and for your help
in making our school a safe environment.

Dear Parents/Guardians
This is to inform you that a high school student was recently approached by
a man at her bus stop and asked to get in the car with him. The student did not go with this person
and was not harmed. She reported the
incident to the police and was able to identify this man. The man was a registered sex offender
from another community and he has been arrested by the Bridgewater
Police. On the same day of this
incident, there appears to have been another event in East
Bridgewater, where a student was confronted by a man, on his
way to school. Police do not believe
the two events are connected.
We want you to be aware that unfortunately there are
dangerous people in our community who have little regard for human
safety. Please continue to talk to
your children about being aware of their surroundings and make sure that
they do not go any where with a stranger.
Make sure they are knowledgeable of who they can contact in a time
of need. Because of quick
communication with the police, this person was able to be apprehended.
Let’s work together to ensure the safety of all of our
children.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey W. Granatino

Dear BRRHS Students & Parents,
You may have read in the local paper or saw on the evening news a
story about a police incident involving two of our students this week. This letter hopes to dispel false rumors
or inaccurate statements you may have heard.
On Tuesday, November 30 two Bridgewater Raynham
Regional High
School students were arrested as they drove
to school on warrants charging cocaine distribution and conspiracy to
violate drug laws. These arrests did
not occur on school grounds nor were there any drugs found in the
school. According to the police,
none of the alleged drug deals occurred in the school or on school property.
This is a Bridgewater
police matter at this time.
Massachusetts General Law ch. 71 sec. 37H ½ prohibits the school
from taking action on an arrest of any student prior to the issuance of a
felony criminal complaint and/or a felony conviction. At that time, the school may suspend said
student if they are deemed to have a detrimental effect on the welfare of
the student population.
The safety of BRRHS students and staff is of the utmost importance to
our administration. We communicate
with the local police on legal matters concerning our students when they
arise. If our students break the law
and/or violate the student handbook, in or out of school, we act as quickly
as we can in accordance with the law.
We have had a very positive opening to the school year with regards
to school climate, this recent off-campus arrest not withstanding. We will continue to strive to provide a
safe and nurturing school environment for all of our students.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey W. Granatino

A rumor of a hit list which involved and allegedly listed four 8th
grade boys was investigated and was deemed not a threat. The information
which stated there was an actual written list found to be not credible.
There was actually no list and all parties involved in this ongoing
disagreement had a lengthy meeting with guidance officers and the matter
was resolved. Contact

In our continued effort to provide a safe and secure school
environment for our students and staff we would like to inform you of the
following: This morning, before
school hours, we had the High School thoroughly inspected for weapons by
the Ballistic Police K-9 Units from the Bristol County Sheriff’s
Department, the Brockton Police Department and the Bridgewater/Raynham
Police Departments. We are happy to report to you that after an exhaustive
search of the building and parking lot, no weapons were found.
BR School and Police
Because of disruptive rumors floating
around the school system the Bridgewater
and Raynham Police Department in conjunction with the BR School department
have developed this community information service to assist parents in
keeping them up to date on exactly what is happening, or in most cases not
happening at the schools. This page will be updated immediately if
there is any credible information from either of the Police Departments or
the School District. There have been some
completely unsubstantiated rumors maliciously floated and none have been
deemed credible. We will keep the students and parents advised.
