Raynham Police Department Traffic Division

      The Raynham Police Department Traffic Division was created in July 2005. The Traffic Division was formed as a result of the citizens' concern regarding traffic complaints in the many residential neighborhoods. The Traffic Division will also work as a support network for the patrol division.

      The Traffic Division is composed of the following ranks: One Lieutenant, One Sergeant, and one patrol officer. One of the Traffic Division members, Sergeant Mario Bettencourt is an expert in the field of Traffic Accident Reconstruction. In addition, Sgt. Bettencourt is recognized in court as an expert in the field of traffic accident investigation and reconstruction. Patrolman Jeff Crandall is also trained and certified in Traffic Accident Reconstruction. Lieutenant Richard Pacheco is the officer in charge of this unit.

      This Traffic Division Unit is assigned to locations where the highest number of crashes are recorded. Fatalities and near fatality crashes are investigated, reconstructed and brought to a conclusion by officers of the Traffic Division.

      The Raynham Police Department Traffic Division will strive to aggressively enforce all traffic and safety laws, to ensure safer and more efficient travel throughout the Town of Raynham.
