Raynham Police Conducting Directed Patrols to Address Traffic Concerns, Create Traffic Concern Form for Community Members

Chief James Donovan reports that the Raynham Police Department is conducting directed patrols throughout town to address traffic concerns, and encourages community members to use the department’s new online forms to report any traffic concerns they may have.

In response to complaints from community members regarding speeding and other traffic infractions in town, the Raynham Police Department has increased directed patrols dedicated to addressing speed, red light and traffic sign violations and more.

The department has also deployed radar trailers, covert radar devices and radar signs around town to monitor and address speeding concerns. Speed trailers allow the department to analyze patterns and the data compiled from these trailers allows the department to better respond to citizen complaints, identify needs for traffic controls and traffic planning/projects.

Since April, Raynham Police has conducted hundreds of hours of targeted traffic enforcement during peak hours of traffic complaints and in areas of concern, which has resulted in approximately 219 citations around problem areas in town.

“Our department takes all formal complaints and traffic enforcement very seriously, and we will continue to address any concerns our community members may have,” Chief Donovan said. “Our officers have been and are continuing to conduct directed patrols throughout the town and are utilizing speed radar devices to address community members’ traffic concerns. We encourage anyone with concerns to reach out to us directly as we do not monitor social media accounts.”

Community Complaint Forms

The Raynham Police Department welcomes additional feedback and concerns from residents related to traffic enforcement. Residents are asked to contact the Raynham Police Department directly with any questions or concerns relating to traffic or any other matter of concern.

Residents can now access a Traffic Concern Form and a Speed Radar Trailer Request Form on the department’s website.

On the Traffic Concern Form, residents can submit a formal complaint about traffic-related issues. On the form, residents will be asked to provide as much detail about the incident as possible, along with their contact information so the department can follow up.

On the Speed Radar Trailer Request, those who have a problem with speeders in their neighborhoods can request a speed trailer on their property. The trailer is proven to slow cars down as it displays current speed as well as alerts drivers if they are driving over the speed limit.

Those who wish to request a trailer should fill out the form and wait for a member of the department to follow up to discuss the details.

Residents are also encouraged to call the department at 508-824-2716 regarding any traffic concerns.
