Investigation Determined No Charges To Be Filed, No Arrests Made
Chief James Donovan reports that the Raynham Police Department investigated a reported road rage incident on Monday.
As a result of the investigation, no charges were filed and no arrests were made.
On Monday, Jan. 25, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Raynham Police received a report of a road rage incident in the area of Route 44 and South Street.
The caller reported that a person in a white SUV pointed a firearm at their car before driving off.
A short time later officers located the vehicle driving down Richmond Street and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Richmond Street and South Main Street. For their own safety, because of the report of a gun possibly inside the vehicle, officers approached the vehicle with their firearms drawn. All occupants of the vehicle were then detained without incident.
Through the roadside investigation it was determined that there was no firearm inside the vehicle, and no crime had been committed.
No charges or citations were filed as a result of the incident.
