Raynham Police Recognize Community Member who Helps Provide Holiday Cheer to Families in Need

RAYNHAM — Thanks to a local community member, students and families in need in Raynham are able to experience some extra holiday cheer.

Chief James Donovan and the Raynham Police Department would like to recognize Candace Dalton, who grew up in the area and has worked with School Resource Officer Louis Pacheco over the past few years to donate gift cards that are then passed out to students and families in need.

Each year, Dalton buys gift cards from stores like Walmart and gives them to SRO Pacheco to distribute to students and families as he works in the schools throughout the year. The gift cards can help families in need buy food, small holiday gifts or other items.

“We would like to recognize and sincerely thank Candace for her donations each holiday season, which help SRO Pacheco assist families throughout the year,” Chief Donovan said. “It’s easy to see that she genuinely cares for the community and wants to help make the holidays brighter for families in need.”

The Raynham Police and Fire Departments also hold Secret Santa and Stuff the Cruiser fundraisers to help families during the holiday season.

“Candace’s donations add a little something extra to our holiday fundraisers and we are truly thankful to her for helping us help our community,” Officer Pacheco said.
