The Town of Raynham proudly participates in the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District, which serves approximately 5,521 students across its schools. Within Raynham, we have three educational institutions: Raynham Middle School, Dr, E. Joseph LaLiberte Elementary School and Lillie B. Merrill Elementary School.
At the forefront of our commitment to student safety and well-being is our School Resource Officer (SRO), Jennifer Lang. As a vital link between the school district and the police department, SRO Lang plays multiple roles within the school community—acting as a teacher, counselor, mentor, and advocate for students, families, faculty, and staff. Importantly, the SRO is not a disciplinarian; instead, SRO Lang fosters a positive relationship with students and is a readily accessible resource for their needs.
While her primary focus is on prevention and deterrence, SRO Lang also conducts all criminal investigations on campus and serves as the Juvenile Detective for the Raynham Police Department. This dual role allows her to effectively handle and coordinate investigations involving juveniles, ensuring a swift and sensitive approach to any issues that arise.
The overarching goal of the SRO program is to enhance the safety of our learning environment by reducing and preventing school violence and substance abuse. SRO Lang brings a wealth of experience to her position, having dedicated more than a decade to the Department. She began her role as a School Resource Officer in September 2024. Her extensive training includes certifications from the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO), Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence (LEAD), Community Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid, and Sexual Assault Investigation. Prior to becoming an SRO, she was a Co-Response Team Member with the Department Clinician for two years and a dedicated Honor Guard Member. She also contributes as a member of the Peer Support Team for SEMLEC Critical Incident Stress Management.
Together, with the support of our school community, the Raynham Police Department is dedicated to ensuring a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for all students within the school district.
